CRKT My Tighe
September 4, 2007
This well thought our knife made a name for itself when it won the Imported
Knife of the Year award last year at the Atlanta Blade Show. The original
brainchild of Brian Tighe, the knife was worked into a wonderful carry knife by
CRKT.
CRKT took Brian's frame lock design and have created a line of knives that
feature four bead blast and two black finished models. These production
knives feature come in two types of 1.4116 stainless steel blades. One is
the CRKT Razor-Sharp and the second is a Combination of the Razor-Sharp and Veff
Serrated Edges, which are excellent at cutting through cording and ropes.
The knife can be purchased with either of two opening mechanisms, either with
a standard non-assist opening design or with the CRKT patented innovation, the
Outburst mechanism. This mechanism will cause the blade to spring open
once the blade has been opened 30%. And with dual ramped thumb studs, this
knife can be opened by lefties or righties.
The fusion between Brian Tighe's original design and CRKT's innovation have
brought about a blade that is no only artfully functional, but is also
reasonable priced. The various models of this knife are available for
under $100.
