Case Vault Knives for 2007 are Revealed

If you are a Case knife enthusiast, you really should become a member of the
Case Collectors Club. The information they pack into each issue is of great
benefit to any knife collector, and help keep you abreast of Case news and
history, as well as giving you a chance to order
Exclusive Case Club Pocket Knives.
Well this latest issue gives a much awaited update on the knives to be placed in
the Case Vault.
If you haven't heard the news, the Case XX Vault program will begin on
January 1, 2008 in an effort to preserve some of the many patterns that Case
sells for a period of time. When one of the over 140 Case patterns is put
in the vault, it will remain there for a period of at least three years, which
will not only help W.R. Case focus on their extensive existing patterns, but
more importantly for the collector, it will give them time to search for other
knives of that pattern to help fill out their collection. And to aid in
that search, Case has put on their website a
list of all of the pocket knives sold
under that particular "vaulted" pattern.
Here is are the soon to be vaulted patterns and a short summary of their
previous offerings.
- Cheetah (11 1/2L pattern)- Since 2001 this pattern has been a
popular Case offering, have sold what appears to be 84 different knives and
sets using the Cheetah pattern. Notables in this pattern include the 2002
Annual Club Knife in Corn Cobb jigged Burnt Moss Bone, a 2002 President's
Tour Knife in smooth pitch black bone, 2002 CCC Fall Promotional with smooth
paua handles, a 2004 Chairman of the Board knife with Jigged Black Bone, as
well as 2004 Limited Edition Series XVI and XVII knives with peach seed
jigged key lime bone and orange peel bone respectively. These pocket
knives have come in a variety of handles from mother of pearl to mammoth.
- Doctor's Knife (85 pattern)- This pocket knife pattern sold from
2001 through 2007 was sold by Case in what appears to be 93 different knife
and sets. This most notable of these selections are the 2001
President's Tour Knife with smooth pitch black bone handles, the 2001
Doctor's Knife Commemorative Set Item 01512, the CCC 20th Anniversary smooth
Mother of Pearl knife, the 2001 Doctor's Knife Commemorative Set Item 02830,
the 2001 XX Limited Edition Series X peach seed jigged Kentucky Blue
Grass Bone, the 2002 XX Limited Edition Series XI, XII, and XIII knives with
peach seed jigged green apple bone, Caribbean blue bone and Mediterranean
blue bone, 2003 CCC Exclusive Fall Promotional knife with smooth abalone,
the 2003 CCC Regular Member Annual Club knife in peach seed jigged Allegheny
Mountain bone, 2003 XX Limited Edition XIV and XV peach seed jigged cabernet
bone and ultra violet bon, the 2004 XX Limited Edition series XVI and XVII
peach seed jigged key lime bone and orange peel bone, the 2005
Physician/Pharmacist Set and the XX Limited Edition Series XVII with peach
seed jigged orange peel bone.
