Case Vault Knives for 2007 Continued

September 10, 2007  page 1 l 2

  • Executive Lockback (056 pattern)- This may be the easiest existing pattern to collect as Case only lists two previous offerings of this knife; one in 1981 and one in 2002.  Both in metal.
  • Tuxedo (156 pattern)- This particular pattern has been sold from 2001 through 2007 and represents a total of 37 knives, most notably the Case Collectors Club (CCC) smooth gold lip pearl sold in 2002 and the candy strip celluloid CCC knife sold in 2002.  This knife has been sold previously in a wide variety of exotic handles including mammoth ivory, stag, giraffe bone, coral, blue lapis and mother of pearl.

Collector's can use the three years following the January 1, 2008 vault date to begin their search in earnest to complete their collections.  If you are trying to put together a complete set of either Cheetah or Doctor's Knives, then you may want to get a jump start now, as you can be assured that other collectors are thinking the same thing.

Additionally Case has created a couple more limited edition promotional knives that should become collector favorites.  Each year that a pocket knife pattern is put in the Vault, one knife pattern will be chosen as a Collector's Choice Knife.  250 pieces will be created of that pattern when the knife is put in the Vault and when they are brought out of the Vault.  Additionally a limited production collectible set will be created after the knife pattern leaves the vault.

This first Collector's Choice knife has been chosen.  It is the Cheetah pattern No. 11 1/2L with the swing guard and lock.  Case promises more news to come on this exciting program and we here at PocketKnives.com will help keep you posted.
